Already have college credits from another college or university?
These simple steps will help you transfer your credits into Trinidad State College:
Step 1. Submit an Application for Admissions
To start the transfer process, apply for admissions at TSC by filling out our online application or downloading a printable application that you can fill out and mail in. Applying is free and, if you're over 17, our open enrollment policy means you're automatically in.
Step 2. Send Us Your Official Transcripts
Have your official transcripts sent directly from your previous college or university to the Admissions and Records office at the TSC campus you want to attend.
Which Credits Will Transfer?
If you earned a C or higher in a relevant college-level course at a regionally accredited college or university, your credits are probably eligible for transfer.
Keep in mind that transfer credits may not apply to your specific degree or program.
Transcripts will be evaluated within 30 days.
Do Grades Transfer, Too?
Only courses with a C or higher will transfer into TSC, and once the credits transfer, their grades will not change your TSC GPA.
Other Types of Transfer Credits
- Prior Learning Assessment
The Prior Learning Assessment or PLA program allows students to earn credit for learning that occurs outside the sponsorship of accredited post-secondary educational institutions. Additionally, corporate or military training with an ACE recommendation and some standardized test scores may also qualify for transfer credits.
For information about transferring any other type of credit, contact Admissions at your campus.
